Feb. 17th, 2001 - 1552 Designs first annual "Winter Treffen" also included a drag race event the day before the show. The drag racing day was held at Desoto Dragway about 20 minutes from 1552. It was a test and tune day so anyone could come and race including domestic. It was free to spectate and only $10 to race all day long. It was quite an exciting day with the highlight being a jet powered s10 pickup truck!! The fastest VW at the show was Aaron Shadle's 97 GTi supercharged VR6 who ran a 12.9. Sam Barker's 97 Jetta supercharged VR6 ran a 13.6 which was his only run, his car is now a 5spd btw. A turbo 8v Rabbit ran a 13.7. Josh's turbo 8v Rabbit ran a 14.6 with only 3 cylinders! Brad from 1552 was running his mk2 vr6 in the low 15s. There were quite a few others racing many for the first time. Here are some pictures from the races.
